The first 3 days of our trip was guided by the local travel agency in Perth, Jutawan Tours . The tour guide basically took us to all sorts of interesting places around Perth. From the Chocolate Factory to Mandura to the Fremantle Market where we spend almost half of our given allowance.
The weather there is pretty cold. One some days when I feel to lazy to bring my sweater, I try my best and bare with the weather. It is cold but at the same time refreshing....minus the effect it has on my skin, lips, hairs etc. Finding Halal foods in Perth isn't that difficult. There are lots of Arabic and Malay restaurants in Perth. So it wasn't a problem for us.
I was in total shock when I saw how most of the people there were so nice. Especially those that work in the malls. Their cheerfulness, manners and what not are on an entirely different level than those of most Malaysians. I entered this one store called Man To Man and the sales girl came up to me,greets me and even started a conversation with me. At first I thought she was doing this because she knew I was a tourist but when an Australian came in a different sales person came up to him and started doing the same thing. Not in just Man to Man, Cotton On, EB Games, Fremantle and even at the pharmacy. My friends would take pictures every five minutes and locals there would just approach us and offered themselves to take photos of us. Even when we were at Break Waters, this lady was busy looking after her kids when all of a sudden she approached us and offered to take our photos. I mean how often can you see that here right ?
Our apartment was nice. We had 2 so we divided into 2 groups. My apartment consisted of Ayman, Tyka, Syafa, Nab and myself. Everything was equipped as if we were staying in Perth permanently. From washing machine to a dryer, fridge, oven and a television which has crappy channels. Our favourite channels would have to be channel 32, especially when its night time.
Shopping was crazy as I had to bought stuff for people that sponsored my trip. Thanks to those that were involved. I also bought a few for my family. Everyone kinda regret spending too much money at Fremantle since there was this one store in the city, which also sells souvenirs at an even cheaper price. I seriously think I would of saved more money if I had bought souvenirs there instead. I was planning on not spending too much of my Australian money so that I could used the money to buy a new phone. In the end, I ended up with only 30 dollars.
Alia brought us to Synergy Park on our fourth day in Perth.... we walked to Synergy Park from Kings Park for about 15 to 20 minutes. Imagine walking for that long and the land you're walking on is fully covered by sand. I think most of my fat was burned there. She invited some of her friends who were Malaysians that study in Perth as well. Too bad I did not get the chance to ask them a few questions due to our schedule and weather. Synergy Park is a really nice place. It was packed with families. Children running around freely as their parents would just sit on the grass and watch their kids from a far. I was told that the criminal rates in the country wasn't that high so the parents did not worry about their children being kidnapped by other people and stuff. The place was packed with teens wearing school uniform on a weekend playing with lots of little children. I heard a conversation between a teen with an adult, they were doing some sort of charity where they take the kids out to play in the park and such. Each student gets to take care of 1 or 2 children I think. They would just play Frisbee, hide and seek, foot ball, chasing each other, play ground and stuff.
It was also my first time performing my solat in a field. Once I finished, a kid was asking his mother what we were doing and I heard the mother explaining it to him that we were Muslims and we were praying. No one disturbed us during our prayers. It really is nice to see that there's no racism between religions.
The only thing that was in my mind throughout the first 3 days of the trip was to spend as much time as I can with my friends as most of them will be graduating and I wont be able to see them on campus next semester *Insert sad face with tears here* .
Little did I know it was more than that. A senior of ours, to my surprise was also taking Herbalife ! I never really talked to her when she was still studying on our Uni in Kelantan. As soon as she was told that I was taking Herbalife as well, we instantly clicked and became close. Can I say "thank you Herbalife "? . My friend Shiha and I volunteered ourselves ( was dragged by our senior ) to join our senior in meeting up with her friends and other Herbalife users at Jacob's Ladder. A day before it, Alia ( senior ) kept on asking me whether or not I was up for the task. She keeps on explaining how the walk to Jacob's Ladder would be about 15 to 20 minutes and how the stairs are really really high and it is ! Believe me. I'm afraid of heights but I manage to run ( sarcasm ) up and down the stairs 4 times with Alia. I decided to join in because let's be honest, when will I ever get the chance to wake up at 6 o'clock in the morning just to run up and down a freakishly tall flight of stairs and meet up with a bunch of cheery Herbalife people ? Sure a few of my friends are taking it as well but I can really tell the difference in the atmosphere between the users on my campus and also the users in Perth.
We attended a Herbalife Opportunity Meeting, HOM at the Hilton Hotel near St.George. It was amazing ! The people, the environment, the success stories. Not just me, even my friend's jaws dropped when they heard the stories from other users. The HOM was just so amazing that 2 of my friends decided to participate in Herbalife as well. Insyaallah they will succeed in it as well.
It get's better ! Alia's Up Line, Yuni and Chris invited us to their house in Perth for dinner ! Most of us went to their house, I mean who can refuse to free food right ? Especially when they were making home made pizzas, Spaghetti and oven baked chicken ! They were really nice and welcoming. They would signal each other using facial expressions when my friends and I started talking in dialect. They even gave each and everyone of us an evaluation. Sadly, I gained 1.2 kilos while I was in Perth ! Blame it on the delicious catering we had for every dinner. Listening to their stories, reason why they joined, their achievements and what not really makes me want to work even harder. But before I can really do the business, I need to really be disciplined . I need to really be a product of the products. Not just taking the shakes and quit half way. If I can lose 5 kg in a month, I am sure I can lose 5 more.
All in all, the trip to Perth was amazing and I hope I'll get the chance to go there once more. With a friend or two, in a group or maybe who knows maybe I'll go on a solo trip.
