Raya Review

I have been in my home town, Kuching for about a week now I guess to celebrate Hari Raya with family and friends.

1st day as usual, all of my family gathered at our grand parent's house to meet and greet the old, eat home cooked meals that each of my aunt and uncles cooked themselves or so they say they did. Shook hands with the elderly, my parents, aunts and uncles, cousins and most of all received packet money !! So grateful that at my age *cough* I still receive tiny packets of money. We went to our grand parent's relatives houses next. Basically we got out of the house at 10 or so am and arrived back home at midnight ! Visiting relative houses non stop and receiving yet again packet money non stop.

On the 2nd day of Aidilfitri my family and I didn't do much since we had a family dinner later that night. So I decided to stay at home and finished up my assignments though still undone, at least I did something that was productive instead of following my parents visiting their friends.

To be honest, I did not expect much of the Family Dinner. The only thing in my mind was attend the 'lame' event, eat the food, gave applause for the entertainment and not sleep. Well I did all of the above and more. Got to play around with a few of the younger cousins who were shockingly not that shy or scared of other people. Playing around as in poking their round bubbly cheeks, asking them stupid questions like whether they prefer Kuching or Kelantan and why they're shorter than I am. That didn't stop there though. There was a 'dance session' where one of my uncles decided to do the 'Poco-poco' . Everyone joined him on the dance floor except for my cause hello !! Mr.Antisocial of the Millennium right here. My cousin even danced one of her performance she did for MSU which was pretty well fun and yet again I didn't participate. I was lucky enough that they started to do everything all over again so I was able to participate with everyone else on the dance floor. Practically everyone did from my grand mother to my 5 and a half year old cousin.

On the 3rd day I did not do much during the day since I was busy packing my stuff cause I am going back to Kelantan in a few days, more specifically this Monday. Later at night I went out with my buddies. Finally reunited with Deen, Adi, Saif, Zaman, Azrol, Azlan and Syazwan. A few others are were absent cause they were busy travelling and some were out with their 'teman' lol. I even dragged my friend, Zudin, who was not part of the group along with us cause I told him we were gonna visit our friend, Musawi afterwards with the rest of the gang. Sadly for him, we were staying at Azrol's for too long that Musawi said it was alright if we couldn't make it to his house tonight since he was pretty tired attending to guests at his house. I actually enjoyed driving my friends around. I don't know why. I usually let my 'non-straight' friends drive me around but with ze straights lol I actually enjoyed it. Haha no offence people. Hilariously Musawi whatsapped me and told me that he was at our friends house which we just visited like 10 15 minutes before arriving so a few people thought it was weird since he said he was tired. mehh xD

Another weird thing happened. We were at our friends house when a familiar face arrived at the house. We all knew who they were (school friends/acquaintance) . What was weird was they didn't want to enter the house. They say it was due to my friend being there. Even the brother of my friend asked them to enter and sat with us inside and they still refuse. We didn't care much, we were mostly watching the football match between Barcelona vs Malaysia. The funny part was when we were about to leave the house, the 2 girls decided to dash across the patio they were sitting to the back door of the house just so that they won't meet us or my friend. I don't know whether it was because they had a fight or teased one another but come on, we're all approaching adulthood and you'd avoid your friends due to a petty fight or teasing ? Even if it was hurtful grow a pair, sit inside and just ignore our group. We wouldn't be bothered anyway.

I heard a lot of stories that night though and I am glad that my friends are still in contact with me even though I rarely have the time to hang out with them due to our different schedules. I'm really grateful that they still even accept me in the group for who I am, not for what I have or anything. Insyaallah with God's will, we will stay close till the end.

Deeply grateful and hurtful at the same time. :)
