You know how in an organization or team building courses they say that every opinion matters in order for a 'team' to succeed ? How a 'good' leader should listen to every opinion regardless of how illogical it may or may not be ? Not just listen but actually process every bit of idea that they've listen to ? well that is true in order for a team to succeed in achieving their goal.
Not just on how a leader should act but also how the followers should not be afraid of their leaders but respect them ? or how the followers should not be afraid to speak out their voice ? No matter how many people were voicing out their opinions and you are far at the back you should do your best so that your opinion is heard.
Feeling good about yourself for attending those types of work shop, you probably feel all confident, ready to face the outside world thinking that everything is going to go your way.
I can say that you're probably 70% wrong. I'm just making up the percentage but in the real world, if you're really lucky, everything goes the way inspirational speaker said it would be. But if you really have the worst of luck like me ? Then you basically wasted 100 bucks on attending those types of talks. Partially joking about wasting the money. You learn something valuable, that you may or may not use it in real life.
I have different experience when it comes to voicing out my own opinions,inquiries etc. At times, people would ask for my opinions. Usually its because I am the youngest in the group, they wanted my point of view cause I was a bit different than most of them. And at other times, I'm like a lost lamb in New York City. Not even honest questions are heard let alone answered. What seems to be completely hilarious to others is that people would be listening to me talking about what I think of something or about my ideas and all of a sudden someone in the huge room would say "I have an idea" and everyone's attention would be shifted to that said person while I have not even finish talking or even reached 3 minutes into speaking up.
I know for those that actually bother reading my blog would say "Wow,some friends you got there" "How rude of them to do that to you" "That's not how an organization or group or team works" but sadly this does happen to me. Well usually the cutting me off while I'm talking part usually happens when the person that cuts me off seems more important than me or matters more to the big people within the circle. I would usually wait till the well 'mannered' person finishes talking then I'll try my best to continue where I was cut off. Life loves to be funny and play pranks on me cause usually when I succeed in getting people's attention, another attention seeking whore....I mean another person would just jump right in,push me to the sides and voiced out their opinions instead. Thinking that the idea that is currently brewing in their head is so amazing that it cannot wait to be exploded into everyone's face and how it cannot wait another second for me to finish my part. I mean seriously? Wait till other people finish their turn then you can have your turn and vomit out your Godly Holy Supreme Idea that's been fucking your skull back and forth cause its needed to be released immediately.
Mind you, Bias does not only occur in the K-Pop world. It happens everywhere you go. Giving grades, cooking food,preparing outfits for different occasion,working in a team, accepting people's opinions etc.
Not just cutting people off but also when it comes to ideas. When you're working in a company and working at the bottom of the food chain, you will be asked to do stuff according to how they President or CEO wants it to be. You're not aloud to voice out your opinions or suggestions. Who are you to give out your suggestions ? You're nothing. You're supposed to do as you told not given a task,try and suggest something and then proceed. It doesn't work that way. When performing, usually the songs are already picked out by the 'big guy' . We don't even get a say in any of it. If we're lucky, they would asked us what songs do we have in minds. Still in that moment we have a leader and other opinions we needed to take in to matter of. That is good though, it means that everyone is listening to everyone's ideas and suggestions. In related with the company thing, your ideas will usually be considered if you are one of the top staffs in the company. Goes same in academic clubs or organizations you join in college/university. But usually these days, opinions of 'closed' friends matter most and opinions of others well would be brushed off. There will always be something wrong with a 'stranger's' idea.
There's also a low chance that opinions of friends and closed ones are rejected. When this happens, they would put on a fake smile for a few minutes. Once the meeting's over with, they would start trash talking about others that have their ideas taken into consideration. How that person is a whore,a gold digger,does drugs and what not. Spreading rumours. Trying to manipulate others so that within time, people would change their minds on their perspective view of that said person and dropped their ideas and instead, picks up the ideas of their 'friends'.
